If any of you need wisdom, ask God for it. He will give it to you. God gives freely to everyone. He doesen't find fault. James 1:5 (NIRV)

Are You .. All of Us – God’s own possession?

You are a people for God’s own possession” (1 Pet. 2:9).

When Jesus said, “I am the good shepherd; and I know My own, and My own know Me” (John 10:14), He stated a truth that has very special meaning to many believers .. and in many ways.

If you were to go to: http://www.iaskgod.com/content/names-god .. and study the Names of God .. you will see that Jesus and “Jehovah Rohi” .. Our God Who Shepherds and GUIDES US .. is one with His Father ..

Go to any gravesite burial service .. and you will usually hear the reading of Psalm 23 … Psalm 23 … A psalm of David.

1 The Lord is my shepherd. He gives me everything I need. 2  He lets me lie down in fields of green grass. He leads me beside quiet waters.  3 He gives me new strength.  He guides me in the right paths for the honor of his name. 4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid. You are with me. Your shepherd’s rod and staff comfort me. 5  You prepare a feast for me right in front of my enemies. You pour oil on my head. My cup runs over. 6 I am sure that your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life. And I will live in the house of the Lord forever.

What memories of Our God .. who directs and guides us .. do you have? Everyone is His by creation, but we as Christians are uniquely His because He paid the price to redeem us from the bondage of sin and death. God’s ownership of believers is emphasized throughout Scripture. Paul admonished elders to “shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood” (Acts 20:28). He said to the Corinthians, “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body” (1 Cor. 6:19-20). Titus 2:14 says that Christ “gave Himself for us, that He might redeem [or purchase] us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself a people for His own possession.” Isaiah 43:21 says, “The people whom I formed for Myself, will declare My praise.” That was to be Israel’s purpose, and it is yours as well. God chose you as His own possession and gave His Son to purchase your salvation. You are His eternally, so live accordingly and rejoice in such a glorious privilege!
